Lea Hogg is a food columnist and feature editor. She specialises in the food and cooking of the Mediterranean Region and is currenty working on a project relating to sustainable agriculture and the transparancy of the food chain of local ingredients and produce. Her work has recently been featured in the Irish Times. She writes for l-Orizzont daily and Independent on Saturdays. She also writes ‘A note from the heart of the Mediterranean’ every Sunday on Di-ve News online. Lea is a regular contributor to Air Malta’s inflight magazine. I live on a little dream island in the heart of the Mediterranean where food is naturally abundant, where the sun shines everyday and brings out the best flavors in everything. After graduating from Culinary School, i worked at a number of restaurants and in 5 star hotels. I like to use fresh locally sourced ingredients in traditional recipes with a bit of a twist. I believe in freshly cut where possible, from the tree straight into the pan. This makes a huge difference and retains the natural flavors as they are meant to be.
I specialize in developing recipes and I am currently working on a line of jams, chutneys, preserves and gourmet foods using local fresh fruit and Mediterranean produce.
